Ultrasound Gives Patients A Sneak Peak at
Memorial Hermann The Woodlands
Houston, Texas, June 7, 2006 – New ultrasound capabilities at
Memorial Hermann The Woodlands allow expectant parents to share
high-quality images of their infants before birth.
“This system gives expectant parents a detailed first glimpse
of their babies,” said Dawanda Nelson, director of the
Imaging Center in Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza III on the campus of
Memorial Hermann The Woodlands. “This is a great resource for
moms whose obstetricians don’t provide such services in their
offices.”
The 4D ultrasound system is used to capture photos of babies in the
third trimester of pregnancy. While diagnostic imaging studies ordered
by physicians seek primarily to assess the baby’s well-being,
4D ultrasound produces keepsake pictures that highlight facial features
and movements.
The new service does not require a physician referral and is not
covered by insurance. The fee is payable by cash, check or
